Abstract: On October 12th in the Ballroom of the student center, I was able to attend the LBC event, â€Å" Got Consent.† directed by officer Dorsey and other members of the Eastern Michigan Police Department. They talked about the importance of domestic violence, rape, and sexual assault, and how men need to make sure that they always have consent before doing anything with a female. Officer Dorsey also discussed how even if you re accused of sexual assault, domestic violence, or even rape that it will always go on your record book even if you were falsely accused. Every 2 minutes an American, mostly female, is sexually assaulted, this means on average there are 288,820 victims of rape and sexual assault each year in the United States (www.rainn.org). Throughout this paper I will argue why men need to always have consent before having sex with a female. I will argue this by talking about the consequences you will receive without getting consent. I believe men should always have consent because if they do not they could be charged years for rape and be put in jail or even prison. Critics may say that most girls falsely accuse men of rape or that most of the girls are just asking for it. Even if this was true people should still want to further investigate the situation, because most of the time the victim is being honest when accusing somebody. The critics are mistaken because statistically not that many girls falsely accuse men of sexual assault. In Mary Cassetts painting she creates complex, impressionistic lighting effects, a floor mirror reflects the scene in a hazy, indistinct manner. She captured the varying effects of light: pure strokes of green and gold suggest the sun flooding the artists studio on a summer day, and glistening touches of pale yellow highlight hair, dress, and furniture. Moore was a sculptor with few themes, but a multitude of resonance. The motif of mother and child, along with the reclining figure, was one that obsessed and intrigued Moore throughout his life. Raphael Introduction: The laboratory method used in this experiment is titration. Titration can be traced back to the start of volumetric analysis, in the late eighteenth century. The study of analytical chemistry began in France (Bandos, 2015). The first burette was made by Francois Antoine Henri Descroizilles, a French chemist and pharmacist (Rosenfeld, 1999). The field began to spread to other European countries. The first text that mentioned titration was published in 1855 in Germany. It was titled Lehrbuch der chemisch-analytischen Titrirmethode (Instructional Book of Titration Methods in Analytical Chemistry). Karl Freiderich Mohr, the author of the book, is also responsible for advancing the burette from an inefficient graduated cylinder-type instrument to a tool with a clamp at the bottom that is still used today (Bandos, 2015). Titration is a laboratory technique that is used to determine the concentration of solution by reacting the known volume of that solution with the measured volume of a sol ution with a known concentration (Haberer et al., 2011). To determine concentration, the equation for concentration in relation to moles and volume is used. To be categorized as an acid according to Bronsted-Lowry Theory, the solution must be able to donate a proton, a hydrogen ion, to a base. To be categorized as a base according to Bronsted-Lowry Theory, the solution must be able to receive a proton, a hydrogen ion, from an acid (Williams, 2015). In both theories the acid must be an aqueous solution, be able to neutralize a base, and have a pH of less than 7. As the reagents are added to one another, using a burette, a chemical stoichiometric reaction occurs until the limiting reagent is exhausted. An indicator is used to distinguish when this happens. A burette is a clear tube with volume markings along its length and a tap at the bottom. The indicator changes colour when the end-point has been reached, which is at the point of neutralization (Richards Fromm, 2015). In the experiment phenolphthalein was used as an indicator. Phenolphthalein is a commonly used indicator in titrations. It is an acid-base indicator which is colourless when in acid solution, and turns pink to red as the solution becomes more basic (Pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov, 2015). To determine the pH of the solution, the equation to solve for pH was used. pH=-log[H3O+] pH= acidity or alkalinity of solution [H3O+]= concentration of solution (Ms. Raphael, SCH 3U1, November 29, 2015). The guillotine was saving them a great deal of time. People went to jail for only a little while, the trial was short and death even shorter. The third trial of Darnay not filled with much justice. He was released from jail and not long after, he got picked up again and back to jail he went, where this trial went quickly and he was sentenced to death. Even with this injustice that was given to Darnay, an even stronger justice was handed to him by a friend. Sydney Carton literally gave him life. The day before Charles was to be sent to the guillotine Sydney exchanged places with him, since they looked so much alike nobody could tell the difference. I don't think his messages apply much in today's world. In today's society things like that are not done. Cases could take years just to get to the court and the trial could even last years. People today get away with murder, robberies, and other federal offences. You can't always have justice, it won't always triumph over injustice. A person can't possibly think it is right when a young child gets murdered and the killer can't be convicted. But things like those happen in the world we live in today.
